# Add and review creditor accounts

Use the Creditors tab to build an accurate account list for the person you are counseling. Start by confirming the client header. Our example is Jordan Training in Demo Agency 2. This demonstration adds one fictional credit-card account manually. Provider imports are separate workflows and require authorization, the correct person, and careful review before accounts are brought into the record.

Choose Add Account. Enter a useful description and the account information, then select the creditor from the lookup results. In this example, the balance is five thousand dollars, the current payment is one hundred fifty dollars, and the pre-program annual percentage rate is twenty-four percent. These are synthetic teaching amounts. Review whether the account should be included in the program, along with any loan, hardship or charged-off details that apply.

Select Add Account, then verify that the account appears in the correct list. Check the creditor name, balance, rate and payment against the information you entered. Here the saved account appears under Accounts in Program. The page also computes estimates. Those estimates depend on the creditor settings and calculation assumptions; they are not a guarantee of creditor acceptance or a promise of future savings.

Before continuing, resolve duplicates, uncertain ownership, missing details and mismatched creditors. When importing provider data, review which accounts are selected and where they will be imported; opening a report is not the same as importing it. Compare the creditor, masked account number, account type and supporting information before treating two rows as duplicates. Finish by checking the saved account and its program inclusion. Estimates remain estimates until the relevant terms are confirmed.
