# Process daily payments

Begin daily payments by selecting the right Company and opening Daily Accounting. Work incoming returns before creating a new batch, so failed or changed payment instructions do not carry forward unnoticed. Open Import ACH Failures. Select the return-file format and Bank that match the provider file, then choose the file and select Validate File. Validation prepares a review; it does not itself apply the selected payment changes.

Review each candidate result before Import File. Check the payment, amount, return reason, and proposed Fail or Fix action. An unexpected match needs investigation. For a Cass reject acknowledgment, follow the manual reconciliation procedure; it does not automatically fail or fix the payment. After an applied import, review its results and any tasks or notices. Next, complete payment-adjustment work and inspect the existing ACH batch. Reusing an existing payment is different from creating another one.

Open Payment Batch and filter the intended Company, dates, and payment population. Read the returned clients and scheduled amounts, and check the selected count before Create Payments. This action creates payment records and can advance their next payment dates. It does not send money to a bank. Use an override date only when the approved run requires it. After creation, reconcile the records and total, and check for duplicates before proceeding to the ACH file.

In DMA ACH Batch, filter the existing payments, choose the approved Bank, and review the amount and selected count. The output format depends on that Bank; this example offers a CSV download. Generating the file marks included payments Transmitted in CMA. Staff must still transfer the correct file through the approved banking process and reconcile the response. Clear payments only when the settlement evidence supports it. Finish by recording the batch reference and handing unresolved exceptions to a named owner.
