# Follow the daily disbursement sequence

Daily disbursements follow a sequence. Choose the Company and open Daily Accounting. Start with incoming files: current Fair Share when required, RPPS returns, and cleared-check returns. These inputs can change account status, contributions, and the funds available for the next run. The checklist helps you track work, but checking a box does not import a file or verify its result. Open each linked workflow and confirm the actual processing outcome.

Next, clear only payments supported by settlement evidence. Then work payoff and manual-disbursement tasks. A payoff request needs a verified balance and approved amount; a manual disbursement needs an explanation and the correct destination. Review Client Balances before generation, even though the checklist places its visible balance review after the batch. Investigate negative balances, missing payment schedules, or unexplained funds. Resolve the cause before asking the generator to use the available money.

Open Disbursement Report to prepare the run. Confirm the Company and review the expected eligible accounts, holds, and totals. Generate Disbursements creates records immediately for the Company. A client filter on the report does not restrict this generation action to that client. Use the organization’s batch controls and approval procedure before confirming it. When generation finishes, compare the created records and totals with expectations. Investigate differences before making any payment output.

Run Client Balances again after the batch. A remaining balance may be valid; do not force it to zero just to finish the checklist. Separate held items from eligible outputs, then use the appropriate RPPS, creditor check, or client-check workflow. Review test output before production where available. Retain the file reference, transfer confirmation, and later return or settlement result. Mark the daily work complete only after the required checks, and leave each unresolved exception with an owner and due date.
